BALTIMORE – Featuring three home matches against local schools, the 2022 Coppin State volleyball schedule was announced by head coach
Tim Walsh on Monday afternoon. The Eagles will host Loyola University Maryland on August 30 before welcoming American University on September 6 and UMBC on September 20 before opening conference play at home against South Carolina State.
Coppin's early schedule showcases four weekend tournaments, starting with the Aggie-Spartan Invitational, co-hosted by former MEAC rival North Carolina A&T and UNC Greensboro on August 26-27. Bethune-Cookman, another former conference foe will also clash with Coppin that weekend.
A big challenge will face the Eagles the following weekend at the Virginia Tech Invitational on September 2-3, followed by trips to the ISTAP HBCU Challenge, hosted by Alabama State on September 9-10 and the Liberty Invitational on September 16-17.
The Eagles will face each MEAC team in a home-and-home series and start league play with four-straight home matches with the Bulldogs (September 23), NC Central (September 25), Morgan State (September 30) and Norfolk State (October 7).
Delaware State visits the Charm City on October 16 before CSU welcomes Howard on October 30 and Maryland Eastern Shore on November 4.
CSU visits the Hornets on November 6 before the regular season finale at Morgan State on November 11. The MEAC Tournament will be played at Delaware State on November 18-20 as the Eagles will look to advance to their first-ever NCAA Tournament.

Miajavon Coleman, who is the school's all-time leader in kills, returns for the Eagles as does MEAC Defensive Player of the Year

Paola Caten. Coppin also brings back All-Conference setter

Ahzhi Coleman who was an All-Rookie Team selection in 2021.
