Manu, Ali, 4x400m Relay Compete in Final Day of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHA, Pa. – In the final day of the historic Penn Relays on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field, Joseph Manu and Latifa Ali took part in the 100m dash while the women's 4x400m Relay set a school-record.

Manu clocked a 10.31 to finish fourth overall, just .03 off the winning time, while Ali placed ninth in 11.73 after running a school-record of 11.45 in the prelims the day prior.

Ali also ran a leg of the 4x400m Relay that finished fifth in the Championship of America in a school-record time of 3:35.70. Kimani Alphonse led off the relay, followed by Ali, Shenelle Tomlinson and Salomay Agyei. The Eagles were edged out for fourth place by Auburn but defeated quartets from Clemson, Rutgers, North Carolina and Penn.

Coppin will send selected individuals to the Kehoe Twilight Meet in College Park, Md., on May 6 before the MEAC Championships on May 12-14 in Norfolk, Va.
