NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Joseph Manu has been named the MEAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday morning. This is the second weekly honor that Manu has received this year, and the first this outdoor season.
A senior from Accra, Ghana, Manu won both the 100 meter and 200-meter dash at the Towson Invitational. Manu's time of 10.10 in the 100-meter final marks the fastest time in the MEAC so far in the outdoor season by .24 seconds which ties for the third fastest in the nation, had it been wind-legal. He also clocked a 21.17 in the 200 meter dash for the third fastest in the conference.
Manu and the Eagles return to the track this weekend for the Aggie Invitational on April 9 In Greensboro, N.C.
