NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Joseph Manu has been named the MEAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. This is the first MEAC weekly award of Manu's collegiate career.
A senior from Accra, Ghana, Manu won the 60m dash at last weekend's East Coast Invitational in a MEAC-leading 6.66 which matches his own school-record. Manu's time is currently ranked 24
th nationally and just two-hundredths of a second behind the current NCAA Championship qualifying time.
Manu also took third in the 200m dash in a season-best time of 21.37 which currently sits third in the MEAC.
The Eagles return to the track on February 11-12 for the Kenneth Giles NSU Invitational, held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
