NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Tyler Nichol has been named the MEAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the first time that Nichol has been named Pitcher of the Week after collecting one Rookie of the Week award during the 2021 season.
A sophomore from Belle Chasse, La., Nichol scattered five hits while allowing just two runs and striking out four batters over 4.2 innings of work at California Baptist University on Saturday. Nichol retired 10 of 11 batters midway through his outing.
Nichol and the Eagles (0-3) return to the field on Wednesday, February 23 when they play Navy in Annapolis in a 2 pm start.
