Randy Serville Wins 400m Dash at Kenneth Giles NSU Invitational

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Randy Serville won the 400m dash lead the Coppin State men's track & field team at the Kenneth Giles NSU Invitational on Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.  The Invitational was the final tune-up before next week's MEAC Championships.
 
Serville clocked a 48.68 in the 400m dash to best all competitors, beating out the closest finisher by 13-hundredths of a second.
 
Abayie Opuni, Amadou Ba and Balvin Richards all finished ninth in their open events with Opuni clocking a 21.68 in the 200m dash, Ba at 4:24.80 in the Mile, and Richards with a 43' 10.50" toss in the shot put.
 
To close out the day, the 4x400m Relay of Serville, Opuni, Ba and Jayeed Norbal who made his CSU debut, finished second in 3:14.95, falling just a half-second shy of Hampton.
 
Jervonne Agard doubled up in the 200m and in the 400m, where he clocked times of 22.08 and 53.53, respectively.    Mauriel Carty ran the 200m at 22.08, Norbal (2:04.63) and Ivan Wiggins competed in the 800 (2:08.01).
