NEW CASTLE, Del. – Coppin State's bowling team is set to open the 2022 season on October 8-9 at the Bud Whitman Memorial, hosted by Chestnut Hill College at Bowlerama. The Eagles will face teams from Mount St. Mary's, Holy Family, Alvernia, Wilmington, Pitt.-Greenburg, Molloy, Bryant, Kutztown and the host Griffins.
Matches will start at 11:00 am on Saturday, followed by 9:00 am on Sunday. All matches will be streamed live on

Picked seventh in the MEAC Preseason Poll earlier this week, Coppin returns its entire roster from last season where it posted it highest winning percentage in school-history. Leading the charge are junior
Logan Brown, along with sophomore
TaVera Johnson and graduate student
Kaylah Castillo.
Brown led CSU with a 186.62 average in traditional matches last season, posting a team-high 14 matches with at least a 200 which included a 244. Johnson was second to Brown with a 177.74 average and eight 200+ games while Castillo accumulated a 173.21 average.

Janaye Monroe (Bowie, Md./Belmont Abbey) and freshmen
Xiani Carpenter (Bowie, Md./Bowie HS) and
Elizabeth Stokley (Elizabeth City, N.J./ECP Early College).
Following this weekend's tournament, CSU is back in action on October 15-16 at the Mount St. Mary's Shootout. Coppin's Lady Eagles Invitational is scheduled for November 19-20 at AMF Woodlawn Lanes in Baltimore.
