NORFOLK, Va. – Four days after running the Nation's fastest time in the 100m dash, Coppin State's
Joseph Amoah has been named the MEAC Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
A native of Accra, Ghana, Amoah won the 100m dash at the Aggie Invitational on April 10 in 10.00, which is the quickest time in the NCAA this season. Amoah's time is a new personal best and school-record, breaking the 10.01 he ran at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Amoah also won the 200m dash in 20.36, which is the seventh-fastest time in the Nation and led the Eagles' 4x100m Relay to gold in 39.83.
Amoah has already qualified for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics for his native Ghana in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m Relay.
