Sebastien Sarabia Named MEAC Baseball Rookie of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Sebastien Sarabia has been named the MEAC Baseball Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.  This is the second time this season that Sarabia has collected Rookie of the Week honors.
 
A freshman from Simi Valley, Calif., Sarabia hit .615 (8-for-13) in four games for the Eagles last week, driving in four runs, scoring a pair of runs and drawing four walks.  In a midweek defeat against La Salle, Sarabia went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI while drawing three walks. Sarabia went 6-for-10 in the series against Delaware State, recording a pair of hits with two RBI in game two before going 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI in the finale.
 
For the season, Sarabia is hitting .328 with eight runs, a home run and 15 RBI.  His 16 walks lead the team as he as accumulated a .469 on-base percentage.
 
The Eagles return to the field on Wednesday, April 14 when they host George Washington at 3 pm.
