EMMITSBURG, Md. – Coppin State's softball team rallied from four runs down to tie the score but fell in the opening game of a doubleheader at Mount St. Mary's, 5-4, on Wednesday afternoon at Meadows Field. The Eagles also dropped the nightcap, 8-3, to the Mountaineers.
Trailing, 4-0 going into the top of the sixth, Coppin got a pair of two-run home runs from

Haley Bravo started the inning with a leadoff single and was replaced by pinch runner
Shawnee Ronyak. Following Dombrowski's shot,
Cindy Sanchez singled with one out and
Maren Bernal ran for her at first base just prior to Aguilera's game-tying home run.
Mount St. Mary's retook the lead in its half of the sixth with an unearned run and the Eagles went down in order in the seventh.
Nia Bowe doubled twice for the Eagles in the opener while Dombrowski and Aguilera drove in a pair of runs.

Coppin spotted the Mount seven runs in the first two innings before Aguilera put the Eagles on the board with an RBI single in the fourth. Bowe scored on the play after recording a one-out single and getting to third on a wild pitch and a single by Sanchez.
The Mount got that run back in the fifth, but the Eagles cut the deficit on a two-run single by Genovese in the sixth, driving in Sanchez and
Isabella Zalba, who both singled earlier in the frame.
Sanchez also singled in the seventh for her third hit of the game, but the Eagles had their final inning rally cut short at third base.
