Manu’s School-Record and Ba’s Victory Highlight Men’s Track Performances at East Coast Invite

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Joseph Manu set a school-record in the 60m dash and Amadou Ba won the 800m Run, highlighting Coppin State's men's track & field team's day at the East Coast Invitational on Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
 
A junior from Accra, Ghana, Manu clocked a 6.66 in the 60m dash, besting Joseph Amoah's old mark of 6.68 that he set last February.  Manu also finished second in the 200m dash with a personal-record time of 21.24.
 
In the same 60m and 200m events, Abayie Opuni took fourth in the 200m dash in 21.81 while Jervonne Agard finished in times of 7.26 and 22.94, respectively.
 
Opuni also medaled in the 400m dash, finishing third in 48.02.
 
Ba won his first race as a member of the Eagles, covering the 800m in 1:54.55.
 
The Eagles return to the track on Friday, February 12 at the Kenneth Giles NSU Invitational, held at the same Virginia Beach Sports Center.
