Bowling Receives Votes in NTCA Poll for First Time Since 2007-08

BALTIMORE – For the first time since the 2007-08 season, the Coppin State bowling team, under the leadership of head coach Shaunita Middleton, is receiving votes in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Poll, which was released on Friday.  The Eagles received the fifth most votes of teams ranked outside the Top 25.

"This season has been that of a whirlwind due to the pandemic," said Middleton. "In the beginning, with the uncertainty of what the season would look like, the mindset and approach that we took as a team was that if we were afforded the chance to compete, we were going at it full force, and these five young ladies have done just that. When I got word that we received votes in the NTCA Top 25 poll, I was very excited as it just confirmed all of the hard work we were putting in. This is a great look for the CSU Women's Bowling Program and we're not going to stop there. The next goal is to reach the Top 25"

MEAC rivals North Carolina A&T and Delaware State are ranked 13th and 15th, respectively.  University of Alabama at Birmingham and Monmouth are also receiving votes.

The Eagles are currently in action at the Northeast Invitational, hosted by Chestnut Hill and Mount St. Mary's at 30 Strikes Lanes in Stratford, N.J.
