VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Coppin State's
Abayie Opuni won the 400m dash and
Joseph Manu took third in the 60m dash to lead the men's track & field team at the opening day of the Kenneth Giles NSU Invitational on Friday at Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Opuni blew out the competition in the 400m, clocking a 48.31, winning the event by over a full second.
Cheyenne Johnson took fourth in the event in 49.90.
After clocking a 6.74 in the prelims of the 60m dash, Manu took third in the finals in a time of 6.76.
Coppin wraps up its indoor season in Day Two of the Invitational on Saturday with the following athletes expected to compete.
