BALTIMORE – Coppin State's
Aliyah Lawson has been named the College Sports Madness MEAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the organization on Monday afternoon.
A junior from Whitby, Ontario, Canada, Lawson notched her first career double-double versus Morgan State on Saturday, recording a career-high 27 points and 12 rebounds while matching a career-high with five 3-pointers. Lawson was also credited with a pair of steals on the day.
This season, Lawson currently ranks second in the MEAC in scoring (15.9) and first in 3-point field goals made (3.0) while averaging 5.0 rebounds and just over a steal and assist per game.

Coppin (1-6, 1-4 MEAC) returns to action on Tuesday, February 2 when it hosts Morgan State at 5:30 pm at PEC Arena.
