Indoor Track and Field Compete at Bill Ward Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Three Eagles from the Coppin State indoor track and field team competed in their respective events Saturday evening at the Bill Ward Invitational at the Ocean Breeze complex in New York.
 
Jeff Hammond led the way capturing second place in the 60m long jump with a mark of 7.07m (23-02.25). He also ran a time of 6.92 to capture fourth in the 60m dash.
 
On the women's side, Erin Palmer finished in third place in the 60m hurdles with a time 9.15 seconds. Freshman Oliva Wright finished in 12th with a time 10.09.
Wright also came in fifth place in the triple jump, (10.69m, 35-00.75).
 
Coppin will be back in action in mid-January to continue the indoor season.
