NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
TaVera Johnson has once again been named the MEAC Bowling of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. Johnson also received the award following her last performance on October 19.
A freshman from Millersville, Md., Johnson finished tenth in the individual standings while leading the Eagles to a second-place finish at the Virginia Union Invitational this past weekend. Johnson averaged a 190.40 in her five traditional matches, recording four games in the 190s with a high of 203 in Coppin's victory over Johnson C. Smith.
Johnson has averaged a team-high 186.10 pins through two tournaments this Fall with 1,861 total pins in ten matches. She has recorded 200-plus pins in three matches this season.
The Eagles return to the lanes on November 13-14 for MEAC Meet #1, hosted by Morgan State at AMF Woodlawn Lanes in Gwynn Oak, Md.
