CARY, N.C. – Amadou Ba finished 10th overall to lead the Coppin State men's cross team at the MEAC Championships on Friday morning at WakeMed Soccer Park.  The Eagles finished seventh overall, finishing ahead of South Carolina State in the team standings.

A junior from Mauritania, Ba shattered his 8K (5-mile) personal record by covering the course in 26:58.4 to earn All-MEAC honors.  Ba shaved 51 seconds off his previous PR of 27:49.1 set earlier this season at The Shore XC Invite on September 25.

Amiri Goode, Randy Serville, Ivan Wiggins and Abayie Opuni ran as a group and finished within 1:06 of each other to help Coppin edge out the Bulldogs.  Goode led the pack in 42nd place (31:25), followed by Serville (31:48.3), Wiggins (32:23.4) and Opuni (32:31.4).
