NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's TaVera Johnson has been named the MEAC Bowling Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.  Johnson is the first CSU bowler to earn a MEAC weekly award since February 4, 2020.

A freshman from Millersville, Md., Johnson finished fourth of 52 bowlers at the season-opening Mount St. Mary's Shootout this past weekend after averaging 181.8 pins.  Johnson was named to the All-Tournament Team while eclipsing the 200-pin mark twice, including a 222 in a win against Pitt.-Greensburg.
