Navy & Gold Fall Series Opener Ends in 2-2 Tie

GOLD OFFENSIVE STARS:

1^ST Inning: Freshman infielder Zeek Hilton (who went 1 for 2 with a walk), led off the game with a double to right-center field. Freshman outfielder Mario Cuevas (who went 1 for 1 with two walks), tripled to right field and scored the first run for Gold on a sacrifice fly to centerfield by freshman outfielder Daren Hagan

3^rd Inning: Cuevas walked, stole second base and scored the final run of the game on an RBI single by Hagan.

NAVY OFFENSIVE STARS:

2^ND Inning: Sophomore outfielder Wellington Balsley (who went 1 for 2 with a walk), walked with the bases loaded to score junior Matt Day for Navy's 1^st run of the game.

3^rd Inning: Sophomore infielder Grant Williams (who went 1-3), tripled to right center field and later scored on a ground out to short by senior Devyan Dyal for Team Navy's final run. 

GOLD'S PITCHING STAR(S):

• Freshman Tyler Nichol faced six batters, yielding no hits while striking out two. 

NAVY'S PITCHING STAR(S):

• Freshman John Neeld faced five batters, yielding no hits while striking out three.
• Sophomore Nico Felber faced five batters, yielding no hits while striking out a pair. 

Game two of Series is scheduled for Friday, October 2^nd Joe Cannon Stadium with First Pitch slated for 2Pm
