Anthony Tarke was named both the MEAC Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week while
Nendah Tarke took home the MEAC Rookie of the Week award, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the second and third honor that
Anthony Tarke has received from the MEAC and the first for
Nendah Tarke.

Anthony Tarke averaged 16.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 3.3 steals and 2.0 blocked shots in three games for the Eagles. The elder Tarke had a banner game in an 86-80 win over UNC Greensboro, totaling 34 points along with ten rebounds for a double-double, along with eight assists, four blocked and four steals. In the victory, Tarke made 11-of-13 shots from the field and 10-of-15 free throws and was the first NCAA player since the 2010-11 season to put up that stat line.
To open the week, Tarke tallied eight points, five rebounds and five steals at Georgetown, and closed the week with seven points and seven rebounds versus UMBC.
For the season, the 6-foot-6 guard leads the Eagles in every statistical category, averaging 17.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 15 assists, 18 steals and eight blocked shots. Within the MEAC, Tarke ranks first in steals, second in both rebounds and blocks and third in points.
Nendah Tarke averaged 9.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals for the week, which included a season-high 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting against the Spartans. He also recorded seven points, six rebounds and two steals at Georgetown and another six rebounds and three steals against UMBC.
In his six collegiate games, the 6-foot-4 guard is averaging 5.7 points and 4.7 rebounds while being credited with 11 steals and four assists.
The Eagles (1-5) return to action on Saturday, December 19 when they travel to play Virginia Tech in a 5:30 pm start.
