Navy Rallies Past Gold in Final Inning in Game 3 of Fall Series, Wins 3-2

Navy Offensive Stars:

  • Senior Devyan Dyal tied the game at 2-2 with an RBI double to the gap in right center and later scored the winning run on an error by the shortstop.
  • Redshirt freshman Mike Dorcean recorded a sacrifice fly to right field to score redshirt junior Brandon Watkins. Watkins also doubled to drive in the first run of the game.

 Gold Offensive Stars:

  • Freshman Sebastien Sarabia went 1-for-2 and was responsible for Gold's first run with an RBI single in the first inning.
  • Redshirt freshman Toran Smith finished 1-for-2 and recorded an RBI double to centerfield in the first inning to score Sarabia with Gold's second run.

Navy Pitching Stars:

  • Redshirt freshman Tim Ruffino pitched the final two scoreless innings to earn the win, striking out three.

Next Game: Game four of the Navy & Gold Fall Series is scheduled for Friday, October 9.  First pitch form Joe Cannon Stadium is slated for 1:45 pm.
