NEW YORK - Coppin State's
Armando (AJ) Hurtado has been selected to participate in the fourth annual HBCU Swingman Classic presented by USA Baseball, which is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Friday, July 10 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pa. With Hurtado named to the American League team, the rosters comprise 50 of the top players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities from across the Nation.

Rickie Weeks, the Swingman Classic roster will be broken up into two teams: National League (Rollins) and American League (Weeks). Weeks' staff will feature Marlon Anderson, Courtney Duncan, Derrick Lewis, Jemile Weeks and Corey Wimberly. Rollins will be joined by Wes Chamberlain, Wayne Gomes, Jason Maxwell, Milt Thompson and Lenny Webster.
For the fourth consecutive year, MLB Network will exclusively broadcast the game with Dave Sims (play-by-play) and Harold Reynolds (analyst) on the call. Ken Griffey Jr. and Emily Haydel, granddaughter of Hank Aaron, will also contribute to the broadcast.
A rising senior from Riverside, Calif., Hurtado hit .288 in his first season with the Eagles while leading the team in runs (40), home runs (8), RBI (39), extra-base hits (21), slugging percentage (.568) and on-base percentage (.485). He ranked tenth in the NEC in OBP and his 1.053 OPS was good enough for seventh in the league. Hurtado's season was highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance at against Mercyhurst where he finished a home run shy of the cycle while driving in a CSU-record seven runs.
