NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's bowling team has been picked to finish eighth of 11 teams, it was announced in the MEAC Preseason Bowling Poll which was released on Thursday afternoon. The predicted order of finish was voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
The Eagles finished just ahead of Morgan State, Norfolk State and Bethune-Cookman in the Poll. Maryland Eastern Shore earned 15 of 22 first place votes to take the top spot in the poll, followed by North Carolina A&T, Delaware State, Monmouth and UAB. Ranked just ahead of the Eagles were Florida A&M and Howard.
North Carolina A&T's Cameron Strombeck was named the MEAC Preseason Bowler of the Year. She was joined on the Preseason All-Conference Team by teammate Ericka Quesada, Maryland Eastern Shore's Brooke Roberts and Chloe Skurzynski, and Monmouth's Saige Yamada.
Coming off arguably its best season in program-history, Coppin won a school-record 38 matches and qualified for its first MEAC Tournament since the 2013-14 campaign. Junior
Kaylah Castillo returns to the Eagles after leading the squad with a 180.27 average in traditional matches, as does graduate student
