Amoah Wins NCAA East Prelims in 100m Dash

AUSTIN BOUND! Amoah Qualifies for Nationals After Running the East’s Fastest Time in 100m Dash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Coppin State's Joseph Amoah ran the fastest time in the 100m dash, winning his Quarterfinal heat in 10.10 at the NCAA East Preliminaries Friday night at Hodges Stadium on the campus of University of North Florida. 
 
A junior from Greater Accra, Ghana, Amoah also won his preliminary heat of the 200m dash (20.49) later in the evening and will run in the quarterfinals of the event on Saturday at 7:50 pm.
 
Amoah is also scheduled to run in the 4x100m Relay at 6:15 pm and the 4x400m Relay at 9:45 pm.
 
Not to be outdone, Aaron Lewis clocked a season-best 13.81 in the first round of the 110m hurdles to also qualify for a Quarterfinal on Saturday.  A junior from Scarborough, Trinidad & Tobago, Lewis' race is set for 7:20 pm.
