Men’s Track & Field Wins Five Events in 4th Place Team Finish

TOWSON, Md. – Coppin State's men's track & field team tallied five event victories as the Eagles finished 4th of 19 schools at the Towson Invitational held at Johnny Unitas Stadium on Saturday.

Joseph Amoah, Cheyenne Johnson, Michael Scott and Balvin Richards all won their respective individual events while CSU's contingent of Amoah, Malik JohnJoseph Manuand Aaron Lewis won the 4x100m Relay in 40.21.

Amoah and Johnson took gold in the 400m (47.76) and 400m hurdles (54.37), respectively, while Scott took the long jump (22-5.75) and Richards the shot put (51-9.25).

Theodore Westcarr has a solid day in the short sprints, taking third in the 200m dash (21.93) and fifth in the 100m dash (10.76).

Coppin also got point production from Aaron Lewis, who took 4th in the 200m dash (22.23) and both Abayie Opuni (48.50) and John (49.05) in the 400m dash.

Anija Addison set a personal record in the 1,500m with a time of 4:10.36.

The Eagles return to the track on Saturday, April 13 at the Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T.
