BALTIMORE – Coppin State's softball team clinched a spot in the MEAC Tournament despite a pair of losses to crosstown rival Morgan State on Saturday afternoon at CSU Softball Field. The Eagles blew a four-run lead in the opener to lose, 6-4, before falling, 12-0 in game two.

How it Happened (Game 1)
- Coppin State scored four runs in the first two innings to take a 4-0 lead. Desiree Carrizosa had an RBI single in the first inning to score Megan Narvaez who reached on a catcher's interference to start the game.
- The Eagles tacked on two more runs in the inning as Cloe Ochoa reached on a fielding error before a throwing error on the same play. Carrizosa and Brissa Alvarado scored on the play with Alvarado also reaching on a single.
- Narvaez also had an RBI single in the second, driving in Melanie Aguilera who doubled to lead off the frame.
- Madison Didion held Morgan State scoreless in the first two innings but the Bears started to rally with a pair of runs in the third before tying it up in the fourth with a pair of unearned runs.
- A two-run home run by Haylee Bobos in the seventh gave the visitors their first lead of the game and the Eagles managed just a pinch hit single by Nicole Ullman in their final at-bat.
Inside the Numbers (Game 1)
- Brissa Alvarado and Melanie Aguilera both had a pair of hits in the opener, with both of Aguilera's hits going for two bases.
- Madison Didion took the loss, allowing four earned runs while striking out eight in a complete game.
How it Happened (Game 2)
- Morgan State took an early lead with three runs in the first and then scored four in the fourth and five in the fifth.
Inside the Numbers (Game 2)
- Megan Narvaez had a pair of base hits while Brissa Alvarado also had a double. Alvarado took the loss, allowing six runs in the first four innings. Maren Bernal allowed three runs while Lexi Flom got through the final inning with a pair of earned runs.
