NORFOLK, Va. – For the second time this indoor season, Coppin State's
Joseph Amoah has been named the MEAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week, presented by the U.S. Marines, it was announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
A junior from Greater Accra, Ghana, Amoah won the 200m Dash at Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational in 20.90 over the weekend. This is currently the second-fastest time in the MEAC and ranks 14
th in NCAA Division I.
To round out the day, Amoah ran the fastest official split overall in the 4x400m Relay, clocking a 46.527 which put the Eagles in the lead after the second leg. Coppin finished the race second in 3:13.13 which is the second-fastest relay currently in the MEAC.
Amoah and the Eagles head to Columbia, S.C. on February 16 for the USC Open for their final tuneup prior to the MEAC Championships on February 21-23.
