LANDOVER, Md. – Aaron Lewis and
Anija Addison led the Coppin State's men's track & field team to a seventh place finish at the 2019 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex Thursday-Saturday afternoon.
Lewis and Addison earned All-MEAC honors as Lewis finished second in the 60m hurdles in 7.95 while Addison took third in the 800m Run in 1:54.97.
Three Eagles recorded points from field events as
Balvin Richards took sixth in the shot put with his collegiate-best toss of 49' 9.75" while
Elijah Noel leaped 42' 9.0" to finish eighth in the triple jump. Highlighted by a second place effort in the high jump (6' 2.75"),
Tyrek Goy took sixth in the heptathlon with 3,606 points.
Cheyenne Johnson also scored a point with an eighth place finish in the 800m Run (1:57.28) and he joined Addison,
Joseph Manu and
Theodore Westcarr in the 400m Relay that took seventh in 3:24.26.
Manu and Westcarr both ran in the 60m dash and clocked times of 7.02 and 7.17, respectively, while Manu also ran the 200m dash in 22.52.
Justin Turner also competed in the 400m dash (53.46).
