BOSTON, Mass. – Coppin State's
Joseph Amoah and
Aaron Lewis were victorious in their respective events to lead the Eagles' men's track & field team at Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Amoah won the 200m Dash in a season-best time of 20.90 which ranks as the 14
th-fastest in the NCAA this season. Amoah also ran the fastest leg of the 4x400m Relay which took second overall in 3:13.13, the second-fastest in the MEAC this season. Joining Amoah on the relay were
Joseph Manu,
Cheyenne Johnson and
Anija Addison.
Lewis once again took the 60m hurdles, clocking a time of 7.92.
Aside from the relay, Manu, Johnson and Addison all had impressive performances in their individual events. Manu finished fourth overall and was the top collegiate finisher in the 60m Dash in 6.96 and he also took third in the 200m (21.50). In the 800m Run, Addison clocked a 1:53.61 while Johnson recorded a personal-record 1:54.22.
Freshman
Theodore Westcarr had a solid day in the short sprints, taking seventh in the 200m Dash (21.95) and ninth in the 60m Dash (7.06).
In the horizontal jumps,
Elijah Noel finished fourth in the triple jump (43' 4.5") and seventh in the long jump (22' 2.5").
