BALTIMORE, Md. – Keshaun Hodges
swept the short sprints to lead the Coppin State men's track & field team to a third place finish at the Hopkins/Loyola Invite on Friday afternoon. The Eagles finished just behind the host Blue Jays and Stevenson University in the team standings.
Hodges took the 100m Dash in a time of 10.92 and the 200m in 21.71 to win gold and collect 20 points for Coppin. Devin Teagle
and Babadeji Balogun
also scored in the 100m in times of 11.26 and 11.33, respectively, while Balogun took third in the 200m Dash (22.00), just ahead of Aaron Lewis
also won an individual event, leaping 22' 7.75" in the long jump which was tops amongst collegians. Damon Rodwell
also scored in the event with an effort of 20' 5.75".
Balogun, Teagle, Noel and Nku Henry
also teamed to take the 4x100m Relay in 42.98.
In field events, Balvin Richards
took second in the shot put (46' 0.75") and fourth in the discus (145').
Other scorers on the track were Justin Turner
in the 400m (51.37) and Anija Addison
in the 800m (1:57.43).
CSU returns to the track on Saturday, April 14 at the Towson Invitational.
