Baltimore, MD - On October 15, the Coppin State Women's Basketball Team went back out into the community and volunteered at the 2017 Komen Baltimore Race for the Cure.
At the race, the Lady Eagles split into two groups and worked along with representatives from Ford to give out survivor scarves to race participants while others worked with representatives from Home Depot in the Kids for the Cure area. There, the Lady Eagles helped kids construct miniature toolboxes and paint them in their favorite colors.
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the world's largest, most successful fundraising and education event for breast cancer. The race series includes more than 140 events on four continents, with over one million participants coming together every year to take part in the fight against breast cancer.
This important annual event raises significant funds for the breast cancer movement, thanks to supporters and survivors around the world who step up and take action by fundraising for the cause.
