Bryant Miranda led Coppin State with two hits and one RBI in the Eagles 12-3 loss to the UMBC Retrievers on Wednesday March 9 at Alumni Field in Baltimore, MD.

John Kraft and
Jamar Criss both got on base after being hit by pitches.

In the fifth inning Miranda singled to right field for his third hit of the contest.

Colin Dower singled to right field in the top of the sixth inning for Coppin State's final hit of the game.

 UMBC scored 12 runs on 14 hits.

The Retrievers scored one run in the first inning, one run in the second inning, two runs in the fourth and fifth innings, four runs in the sixth inning, and one run apiece in the seventh and eight innings.

Aaron Rea was issued to loss after pitching two innings, striking out a pair and surrendering four hits.
Krystian Negron retired three batter and gave up three hits in 1.2 innings.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday and Sunday March 12- 13 for a weekend series against New Jersey Institute of Technology at Joe Cannon Stadium in Baltimore, MD. Saturday's matchup will be a double header with the first game beginning at 1:00 p.m. Sunday's outing will be a single game with a noon start.Â
