BALTIMORE – The Coppin State baseball team plays its final non-conference contest of the season when it visits George Washington University Wednesday afternoon. First-pitch from Tucker Field at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Virginia is at 3:00 p.m.

The Eagles (3-34-2 overall) and Colonials (26-14) were scheduled to play on March 24 at Joe Cannon Stadium, but the game was postponed because of unplayable field conditions. This will be the only meeting of the season between Coppin State and George Washington, who lead the Atlantic-10 Conference.

Coppin State will conclude the season by playing consecutive contests against first-place teams. George Washington is the second Atlantic-10 team the Eagles will face this season. Coppin State tied La Salle, 5-5, on April 8 in Philadelphia.

Coppin State is coming off a tough weekend series against Delaware State in which it dropped all three games. The Eagles have been led all season by Bobby Dragon, Bryant Miranda and Colin Dower. They have combined for 101 hits. Junior Jack Kraft has 31 hits but is out for the remainder of the season with an injury. Scheduled to start for Coppin State on the mound is freshman Jesse Kraft.

Dragon leads Coppin State with a .321 batting average. He leads the Eagles with 43 hits and is tied for the team lead in RBIs with Miranda. They each have 19 RBIs. In their last game against Delaware State on Sunday, Miranda and Dragon had consecutive two-out singles in the bottom of the sixth inning and Dower was a pest all game at the long as he worked out a hat-trick of walks for the Eagles.

The Colonials defeated Towson, 9-4 Tuesday afternoon behind Joey Bartostic, Brandon Chapman and Andrew Selby, each of whom had two hits each. George Washington ranks second in the Atlantic 10 with a staff ERA of 2.32. Freshman Robbie Metzranks fifth in the conference with a 2.32 ERA as a starting pitcher.

Bartostic has 18 multiple-hit games to rank first on the team in addition to a .346 batting average, 31 runs, 57 hits and a .397 on-base percentage. He also leads the team and ranks third in the Atlantic 10 with 18 stolen bases. Sophomore Eddie Muhl, an NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List selection, continues to lead the NCAA with 15 saves. He has a 1.23 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 20 appearances this season.

Coppin State visits Norfolk State to finish the 2015 season in its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) finale. Norfolk State clinched at least a tie for the MEAC Northern Division championship.
