BALTIMORE – Coppin State's women's bowling team returns to Reading, Pa. for the Kutztown Invitational.
The three-day event will take place at Heister Lanes. Competition will begin at 10:35 a.m. on Friday. Play will get started at 9:25 a.m. on Saturday and 8:25 a.m. on Sunday. The format will be quad baker on Friday, traditional on Saturday, and best-of-7 baker on Sunday. This format is mandatory for all three-day NCAA events.
The live Webcast of our event will be seen on Bowl.TV and you can also go to www.bowl.com to find it. The 'TV' pairs are 17-18 and 19-20 and every effort was made to get each of the 28 teams there for at least one match in the first two days of the event.
As the largest tournament in the NCAA this season, 28 teams will compete. The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will have a strong presence with Coppin State, Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T, Delaware State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Morgan State, Bethune-Cookman and North Carolina Central participating.
In addition, 16 of the top 20 teams ranked in the recent National Tenpins Coaches Association national poll will compete this weekend.
"I am excited for the young ladies to compete against some of the top-rated teams in the country," Coppin State head bowling coach
Ty Robinson said. "It will be a great experience for us to bowl on live TV against that caliber of competition."
Last weekend at the Lady Bulldog Classic, Coppin State finished seventh overall with three victories under their belt. On Saturday, the Eagles topped Hampton, 735-716, in a team match.
Coppin State shined on Sunday, beating Virginia Union 4-2 and Hampton 4-1 for a perfect afternoon.
