HAMPTON, Va. --- The Coppin State duo of 
Cindy Okpegbue and 
Kendra Ireigbe combined for 26 kills during a 3-1 setback to Hampton University Friday night in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division match at Holland Hall.
 
The Eagles (10-11 overall, 4-4 MEAC North) won the opening set 25-23 before Hampton captured the next three by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-23. The Lady Pirates remained unbeaten in conference play despite another strong challenge from Coppin State.
 
Okpegbue had 14 kills and Ireigbe added a dozen kills for Coppin State. Ariel Rchard (eight kills) and 
Maya Horner (seven) had some impactful moments during the match. 
Chelsee Sauni collected 35 assists and 
Gabrielle Otero led the Eagles defense with 20 digs. 
Bailee Jackson had 10 digs for the Eagles.
 
Coppin State continues its Virginia trip when it visits Norfolk State Sunday afternoon in a match beginning at 3:00 p.m.
