2013-14 Award Winners

BALTIMORE – Seniors Ashle Craig, Kyra Coleman and Larrisa Carterwere named the Coppin State University women's basketball award winners during the 2014 All-Sport Banquet on Tuesday, May 7. Each player shared most valuable player honors.
 
They helped Coppin State win 17 games and advance to the MEAC championship game against Hampton. Coleman and Carter also became the 13th and 14th players, respectively in program history to score 1,000 career points.
 
Coleman was named first-team All-MEAC after leading Coppin State in scoring (17.1 points per game) and steals (72). Coleman was also second on the team in rebounds and assists. She scored 20 or more points six times this season. She also became the first CSU women's basketball player to score at least 30 points in consecutive games since 2006. She was named to the MEAC all-tournament team after averaging 19.5 points per game during the tournament. Coleman ended her career with 1,345 points, which was good for sixth all-time in program history.
 
Carter averaged 13.3 points per contest, which was 15th in the MEAC overall. Carter finished in the top 10 in the MEAC in rebounding (8.3 rebounds per game, fifth), field goal percentage (44.2, seventh), free-throw percentage (77.8, ninth), offensive rebounds (3.6, fifth) and defensive rebounds (4.7, eighth). She was named MEAC Player of the Week on Dec. 16 and MEAC Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 27. Carter scored in double figures 21 times this season and posted 10 double-doubles. Carter finished her spectacular career with 1,062 points.
 
Meanwhile, Craig ended her career with 790 points. Craig scored in double figures 27 times in her magnificent career, including in nine of Coppin State's last 11 games. She led the Eagles with 46 made 3-pointers. Craig scored a career-high 27-points leading CSU to a 71-52 win over Norfolk State on Jan. 20 to earn College Sports Madness MEAC Player of the Week honors. She ended her career with 264 steals, which is third all-time in Coppin State women's history. Craig has also made 92 3-pointers, which is fourth all-time in CSU history and finished with 241 assists, which is ninth overall in team history.
 
The terrific triumvirate combined to score 3,197 points and helped Coppin State win 66 games during their time on North Avenue. Playing throughout their careers with charisma, confidence and consistency, Carter, Coleman and Craig will be remembered forever in Coppin State women's basketball history.
