NORFOLK, Va. – After leading the Eagles to a pair of victories last week, Coppin State's
Khila Morris has been named the MEAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the second time this season that Morris has received this weekly award after doing so on January 5, 2026.
A senior from Bronx, N.Y., Morris averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 61.9% from the floor and 11-of-13 (84.6) from the line in two games.
Morris led all players with 15 points to go with six rebounds, a career-high seven assists and two steals in a win over Washington Adventist before erupting for 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting against Delaware State. Against the Hornets, Morris also added six assists, four rebounds and three steals.
For the season, Morris ranks fourth in the MEAC in scoring (12.9), fifth in assists (3.0), seventh in both field goal percentage (41.7) and steals (40) and first in minutes (35.3). She's raised her production to 14.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals in conference play.
Coppin (7-18, 4-4 MEAC) has won three-straight games and travels to South Carolina State (Feb. 12) and NC Central (Feb. 14) before returning home for Homecoming against league-leading Maryland Eastern Shore on February 21.
