OAK FOREST, Ill. – The Coppin State women's golf team finished third at The Windy City Classic, carding a 195-over-par (1,036) over three rounds at George Dunne National Golf Course. CSU finished 23 strokes behind Christian Brothers University for second place.
Angelique Espinosa led Coppin State, tying for sixth overall with a 39-over-par 255. Espinosa opened with an 86 before shooting an 83 in the second round, highlighted by a birdie, and closed with an 86.
Genesis Lewis finished ninth overall with a 44-over-par 260. She posted an 88 in the opening round, recording a birdie, before carding an 89 and closing with an 83.
Alina Amos finished 10th, one stroke behind Lewis at 45-over-par 261. Amos shot 91 in the opening round before posting consecutive rounds of 85, recording a birdie in each of the final two rounds.
Isabelle Nguyen opened with a 90 and finished with a three-round total of 285.
Jordyn Kyle concluded the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 99 to finish with a 299.
Coppin returns to action on October 12-13 at Mercyhurst's Evann Parker Memorial, held at Lake View CC in North East, Pa.
