NORFOLK, Va. – For a conference-leading fifth time this season, Coppin State's Eva Rovello has been named the MEAC Volleyball Setter of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

A junior from Vigneux de Bretagne, France, Rovello led the Eagles to a sweep of Howard this past Friday, recording 31 assists and seven digs to go with a season-high seven blocks, three kills and an ace.

Rovello leads the MEAC with 9.48 assists/set and ten double-doubles while adding a team-high 39 aces to go with 82 kills, 2.30 digs/set and 64 blocks (0.68/set).  The 6-foot-1 setter has also quarterbacked the Coppin offense to a league-leading .230 hitting percentage and the eighth-most kills in the Nation (1,186).

Nationally, Rovello stands sixth in total assists (891), 25th in total aces and in the top 100 in both assists (83rd) and aces (98) per set.  Her 64 blocks are believed to be the most among all Division I setters.

Coppin (17-7, 8-1) travels to UMBC for a non-conference tilt on Wednesday, October 28 before hosting South Carolina State (Oct. 30) and N.C. Central (Nov. 1) at PEC Arena.  Wednesday's clash with the Retrievers will air on AmericaEast.TV while the weekend's matches air on the MEAC Network.
