RALEIGH, N.C. – Coppin State's bowling team advanced to the Second Day of the MEAC Tournament with a win over #6 Howard but was eliminated from championship contention with a loss to #5 Delaware State over the weekend.

Coppin dominated the Bison in an elimination game later that day, taking down Howard, 842-792, in traditional play, before sending them home with an 874-776 victory in a baker match.

On Saturday, Coppin took Delaware State to the limit despite an 842-757 loss in a traditional match.  The Eagles regrouped and took down the Hornets, 845-821 in a baker match, forcing a best-of-seven match to decide who moves on and who went home. DSU won the first two matches before Coppin took down the Hornets, 164-153 in the third match. The Hornets won the next two games to clinch the match.
