BALTIMORE – Coppin State's bowling team opened its 2026-27 season with a 2-0 victory over Morgan State in the inaugural 410 Clash on the Lanes, held at AMF Woodlawn Lanes.
In traditional play, the Eagles bested the Bears, 852-787, led by
Abigail Brockington who rolled a 200.
Shakyia Johnson followed with a 173 along with a
Victoria Davis' 167.
Antonnise Codner added a 157 with
Gabriella Powell rounding out the lineup with a 155 while
Layla Holtzapple saw action as a substitute.
The Eagles also prevailed in Baker play, winning all five games and totaling 844 to Morgan's 701. In the opening game, Coppin won 177-128 along with dominant victories in the next two, 157-114 and 211-167. CSU edged the Bears, 121-120 in game four and 178-172 to close the format.
Coppin returns to the lanes on October 10-11 at the Bud Whitman Memorial, hosted by Chestnut Hill at Bowlero Deptford in Deptford, N.J.
