WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jonathan Dunn scored a career-high 23 points and the Eagles shot a season-high 51.0% from the floor, but it was not enough as the Coppin State men's basketball team fell at Howard, 90-75, on Monday night at Burr Gymnasium. The Eagles fell to 2-16 overall and 1-3 in the MEAC while the Bison moved to 8-9 on the year and 3-0 in league play.

- Dunn hit 5-of-11 from the floor and a career-high 13-of-18 from the free throw line to surpass the career-high points total from earlier this season against UMBC.
- His 13 free throws were the most by an Eagles player since Sam Sessoms made 15-of-19 from the stripe at Norfolk State.
- Toby Nnadozie also went for 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting along with a team-high eight rebounds and three assists.
- This was the first time since January 14, 2023, against Morgan State that Coppin had two players score at least 20 points.
- Peter Oduro also finished in double figures with 14 points, followed by Cam'Ron Brown with nine points. Brown also had three steals, matching Zahree Harrison for a team high.

How it Happened
- The teams traded leads for most of the first half until Coppin turned a 11-5 deficit into a 15-11 lead with Dunn and Nnadozie scoring four points apiece.
- Coppin held the slim lead until extending it to 30-21 at the 7:16 mark following another six-straight points, four of which came from Dunn.
- Howard responded with 15-straight points to retake the lead and took a 42-36 advantage into the locker room.
- After allowing the first four points of the half, Coppin scored seven-straight to get within three, highlighted by a three-point play from Brown with 17:35 remaining.
- Howard regrouped, hitting three 3-pointers in a row, including the last one going for four-points as Marcus Dockery was fouled on the play.
- Coppin was able to pull within 63-55 with 10:25 remaining following two free throws from Oduro before Howard pulled away with nine of the next 11 points.
