NORFOLK, Va. – Four Eagles scored in double figures but Norfolk State shot 61.8% from the floor as the Coppin State men's basketball team fell to the Spartans, 92-69 on Saturday afternoon at Echols Memorial Hall. Coppin fell to 2-15 on the season and 1-2 in the MEAC while Norfolk State moved to 12-7 overall and 3-0 in league play.

- Toby Nnadozie led Coppin with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting while adding three assists and three steals which also both paced the team.
- Jonathan Dunn finished with 13 points, followed by Peter Oduro with 12 and Julius Ellerbe III with 11 points and three assists. Oduro had a team-high six rebounds.
- Khali Horton added six points off the bench while Cam'Ron Brown chipped in with five points and three assists.
- Zahree Harrison added four points and Aa'Reyon Munir-Jones saw action for the second-straight game and recorded three points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal.
- Four NSU players also finished in double figures and the Spartans recorded 27 points off 19 CSU turnovers.
How it Happened
- Oduro matched a Norfolk State bucket with a jumper to tie the score at two before the Spartans ran off seven-straight to take an early 9-2 lead.
- Threes by Ellerbe and Dunn, followed by a layup by Oduro cut the deficit to 11-10 at the 15:25 mark before Norfolk State quickly upped the lead back to eight.
- Ellerbe hit a pair of threes to get Coppin within 24-20 with 7:38 remaining before the Spartans went on a 10-0 run and closed the half on another 11-1 run to lead 53-32 at the break.
- The Eagles were unable to pull closer than 18 points in the second half with that coming on a layup by Munir-Jones with 1:30 left to play.
- Norfolk State answered tat bucket with a three and scored on a transition layup in the closing seconds.
