How it Happened
  • Loyola got out to a quick 5-0 lead, but the advantage was short-lived as Coppin got a three from Horton and layups from Brown and Oduro to tie the score at seven.
  • After trading points, Nnadozie converted on an old-fashioned three-point play, tying the score again at 12.
  • A dunk by Dunn at the 9:19 mark of the first half gave Coppin its first lead of the game at 18-17, which was answered by Loyola, but Sparrow buried a three to put CSU back on top, 21-19.
  • Oduro scored the next four points for the Eagles, extending the lead to four and Coppin extended its advantage to seven following a pair of Horton free throws, and an alley-oop in transition from Cam'Ron Brown to Horton.
  • Dunn converted back-to-back layups to keep the margin at seven, but Loyola cut the deficit to a single point at 34-33 with a 6-0 run to close the period.
  • The teams traded multiple leads in the early minutes of the second half, but Loyola took control as Theodosiou caught fire with three 3-pointers and pair of free throws to take a 66-56 lead in the final minute.
