Oduro Leads All Players with 15 Points as Men’s Hoops Falls at Penn State

STATE COLEGE, Pa. – Peter Oduro scored a game-high 15 points and both Jonathan Dunn and Toby Nnadozie finished in double figures as the Coppin State men's basketball team fell to Penn State, 99-51, on Saturday afternoon at Bryce Jordan Center. The Eagles fell to 0-12 on the season as the Nittany Lions improved to 9-2 overall.

  • Oduro hit 7-of-9 shots from the floor, including a 3-pointer to lead all players in scoring.  He made his first six shots from the floor.
  • Nnadozie and Dunn had ten points apiece, followed by Camaren Sparrow with seven and the rest of the Eagles finished with a combined nine points. Nnadozie and Sparrow both had a pair of steals.
  • Julius Ellerbe III had a game-high eight rebounds and dished out five assists.
  • Penn State outshot Coppin, 56.7% to 35.5% from the floor and outrebounded the Eagles, 45-28.
  • Coppin's 15 assists were its most since March 2, 2023, at Morgan State when it was credited with 18 dimes. Cam'Ron Brown was second to Ellerbe with four assists and Sparrow had another three.

  • Nnadozie answered a three-point by play Penn State with another jumper before Penn State scored 20-straight points.
  • Oduro hit two more field goals before a three by Nnadozie with 5:40 remaining.
  • The Nittany Lions went into the half with a 52-21 lead and the final score was its largest lead of the game.
