Blessing Lawrence Earns MEAC Bowling Rookie of the Week Honors

NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Blessing Lawrence has been named the MEAC Bowling Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Thursday morning. This is the second time this season that Lawrence received the award after doing so on October 17, 2024.
 
A freshman from Providence, R.I., Lawrence helped the Eagles to a sixth-place team finish at the MEAC No. 1 Meet last weekend.  Lawrence ranked third in the conference in overall fill percentage (85.7) and striking sum percentage (41.4).  She also recorded the 10th-best average per frame and baker average per frame of 18.69.
 
For the season, Lawrence is leading the team with an 18.04 average per frame, 78.0 overall fill percentage and 37.0 strike percentage while also converting on a team-high 65.1% of spares and 82.0% of makeable spares.  In Baker play, she has averaged 17.52 pins per frame and a 74.8 overall fill percentage while accumulating a 33.7 strike percentage.
 
The Eagles are set to host their annual CSU Lady Eagles Invitational on November 16-17 at AMF Woodlawn Lanes in Gwynn Oak, Md.   Traditional matches are set to start at 11:00 am on Saturday with Baker matches starting at 9:00 am on Sunday.
