Harlem, NY: Historic Rucker Park in Harlem New York hosted the first ever HBCU All-Star Dream Classic, which featured Coppin State women's basketball graduate Jaia Alexander.
Two time author and HBCU enthusiast Rachel E. Naughton partnered with Bridging Structural Holes' CEO Darryl K. Roberts to bring together the most talented HBCU graduate players throughout the country. Alexander teamed up with Norfolk State's Deja Francis and Morgan State's Charlene Shepphard to represent the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference under Team So Jo's Truth, coached by Virginia State women's basketball Alumni Vanessa Watson, and Morgan State's women's basketball alumni Angie Jones.
"The MEAC is a tough conference and prepared all of us to be here at this moment... I could not wait to represent Coppin State, represent HBCUS', and learn about everybody else's culture and schools as well...It was a blessing to be out here, I had a ton of fun and cannot wait to carry this legacy on and see who comes out next year" said Alexander after a victory over the Althea's Aces.
Alexander finished her career at Coppin State earning the 2021-2022 MEAC Player of the Year Award, and led the conference with 15.8 points, while ranked second with 7.1 rebounds per game.
