CARY, N.C. – Coppin State's men's tennis team picked up three singles wins as it as edged by Norfolk State, 4-3 on Friday afternoon at Cary Tennis Park. 
 
Rishi Jalota and 
Ulugbek Abdurakhmonov picked up straight-set victories in the fifth and sixth spots, respectively, with Jalota allowing his opponent to win just a single game.  After dominating the opening set, 6-1, Abdurakhmonov defeated Ibrahim Abbas, 7-5 in the second set.
 
Anas Haddou was also victorious at no. 4 singles, winning the first and third sets, 6-1, after falling, 3-6 in the second.
 
Norfolk State picked up wins in the first three singles flights with 
Luka Markovic falling, 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1, 
Vansh Kapoor dropped a 6-4, 7-5 decision at No. 2 and 
Isaac Sanders fell, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.
 
The Spartans won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 over Markovic/Kapoor and Sanders/Abdurakhmonov. Haddou and Jalota trailed, 5-3, but went unfinished.
 
The Eagles close the MEAC Roundup against South Carolina State on Saturday, March 18.
