Career High Night for Archey in a Loss to George Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Justin Winston, Greg Spurlock, and Ryan Archey carried the team for a combined 36 points of the team's 45 in a loss to George Washington on Saturday night. Ten points for Archey puts him at a career high, while Winston led all players with 15 points. Coppin is now 1-10 for the season, while George Washington advances to 5-4.  

Winston finished with 15 points with seven field-goals made and four rebounds as the leading scorer of the game.  

 Spurlock was the team's second leading scorer with 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  

 Archey had a career high ten points with four field goals made, and shot a perfect two of two from the stripe.  

Toto Fagbenele had a season high ten rebounds to lead all players. He led the team with three blocks, added with four points and two assists.  

Darryon Prescott added three points and two rebounds in under four minutes of play.  

 Aa'Reyon Munir-Jones led all players with three steals.  

 Don Don Ferguson added two point and two steals. 

 As a team, Coppin outnumbered George Washington off the glass offensively (16-12) and in steals (9-6). The Eagles also outscored George Washington in second chance points (9-4).  

Archey and Winston had six points apiece in the first half.  

Spurlock hit a three to force a George Washington timeout as the Eagles trailed by four (15-11).  

The Revolutionaries closed the half off an 8-0 run to take a double-digit lead (36-17).  

The Eagles went on a 10-0 run carried by Winston and Spurlock at the beginning of the second half consisting with two jumpers from Spurlock and two dunks from Winston.  

George Washington responded with a 12-0 run to maintain their double-digit lead. 

Archey went on a 4-0 run alone to deflate the Revolutionaries run.  

Prescott chipped a layup in before George Washinton pulled away with a 76-45 victory.  

Up Next: The Eagles will head back to Washington D.C. to match up against Georgetown. Last time out, Coppin went into overtime with the Hoyas in the first game of the 2022-23 season. Tip-off will begin at 8:30pm on Tuesday, December 12th inside the Capitol One Arena. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+.
