Three Players Post Season Highs in Loss Against La Salle

BALTIMORE, MD.- Camaren Sparrow, Zahree Harrison, and Greg Spurlock set new season highs despite an 81-62 loss to La Salle on Sunday. The Eagles remain on a hunt for their first non-conference win.  

 Inside the Numbers 

  • Greg Spurlock led the team in scoring with a season high 15 points. He shot a perfect two of two from beyond the arch, shot three of three from the stripe, dished out three assists and three rebounds.  

  • After earning MEAC Rookie of the Week, Sparrow set a new career high with 14 points while shooting six of eight from the field. 

  • Harrison also set a season high 14 points and shot a perfect eight of eight from the stripe.  

  • Malik Battle went for nine points, knocked down two threes and two assists.  

  • Ryan Archey matched a team high three assists added with four points. 

  • Justin Winston chipped four points and pulled down three rebounds.  

  • As a team, Coppin shot a season high 45.5 percent from beyond the arch to outnumber La Salle in three-point field goal percentage.  

  •  The Eagles also outnumbered the Explorers 7-0 in fast break points. 

How it Happened 

  • Six lead exchanges took place within the first half.  

  • Coppin went on a 9-0 run to take a 16-14 lead over LaSalle 

  • Spurlock, Sparrow, and Harrison accounted for 25 of 27 points for Coppin in the first half. 

  • The Eagles went into the second half trailing the Explorers by seven (34-27). 

  • Sparrow sparked momentum with two straight buckets to open the second half.  

  • Rokas Jocius from the Explorers scored six straight points to pull a double digit lead. 

  • Spurlock and Harrison responded with a pair of buckets to bring the lead back to single digits at 14:55.  

  • La Salle went on an 18-4 run to carry another double digit lead. 

  • Coppin had took one last punch with a 7-0 run with a pair of threes from Archey and Sparrow. 

  • La Salle ended up on top with a final score of 81-62.
